Hot Spots

Hot Spots are areas of fur that become inflamed after an allergic trigger, matted wet fur or stung by a bug.

This hot spots should be treated immediately since the area can become worse as the dog lick and chew the area.

Pet Remedies For Hot Spots

  • Dissolve 2 adult aspirins in 1 Tbls. rubbing alcohol. Steep 1 tea bag in 1 cup warm water; discard tea bag. Stir together aspirin mixture and tea; allow to cool. Shave hair around hot spot. Blot prepared mixture over spot with a cotton ball. Follow with over-the-counter cortisone spray or crème. Repeat as necessary.
