Bladder Infection

The bladder (the urinary bladder) is a sack-like muscular organ that stores the urine after it has been filtered through the kidneys. The urine arrives at the bladder through the urethra. It will then be released by a sphincter which is surrounded by muscles that contracts during urination. Infection occurs when bacteria starts to irritate the urinary bladder, causing inflammation and pain, particularly during urinating.
