Cough

A cough is a physiological mechanism through which the lungs rid themselves of contaminant and other foreign bodies. A cough can also be a symptom of a range of other diseases. It is crucial that you do not ignore this condition, no matter how mild it is, so as not to progress into a much worse predicament.

Home remedies for Cough

• Place a tablespoon of salt and a small quantity of bicarbonate of soda in half a glass of water. Gargle this for five minutes.
• Drink tea made from an infusion of thyme.
• Soak almonds in water overnight. Peel, grind and add a little sugar and butter. Eat two tablespoons every time you have dry cough.
• Boil some fresh mullein leaves and breathe in the fumes. Good for a cough and a blocked nose. However, this method is not safe for nursing mothers, pregnant women, and those who have cancer. Make sure you do not intake the seeds as well since they are poisonous.
• Eat three cloves of garlic twice a day.
• Sooth your throat by preparing some fresh basil leaves in boiling water. Let it steep for fifteen minutes. Drink a cup of this tea every after meals.
• Drink some freshly squeezed lemon juice with honey is great relief on cough.
• Prepare one teaspoon of Marjoram, put it in boiling water, and let it simmer for ten minutes. Drink this mixture four times a day.
• Add a pinch of white finely grounded pepper in a tablespoon of honey. Drink this three times a day for one week.
• Gargle with fresh spinach juice once in the morning and once before going to sleep.
