Influenza

Influenza is an infectious disease caused by RNA virus, a member of the Orthomyxoviridae family. In humans, the disease is generally characterized by a temperature, repeated vomiting, a sore throat, aching muscles and joints, headaches, a cough, and general weakness.

Home remedies for Influenza

• The influenza virus is passed on by mammals that caught the disease from other sufferers that can easily spread large quantities of the virus through a cough or a sneeze.
• Drink hot tea and lie down in bed.
• Chop an onion into small pieces, smear them with honey and leave it for a few hours. Eat a tablespoon of the mixture every four hours – just like antibiotics.
• Have a bowl of chicken soup.
• Prepare a “health package” – mix together the juice from a lemon with a generous tablespoon of honey and place in a cup. Pour hot water over the mixture until the cup is full. Drink it while it’s hot. You can also add a tablespoon of brandy.
• Drink a cup of sage leaves tea three times a day.
• Rub your forehead, back, and chest with eucalyptus oil to soothe all aching muscles.
• Lie in bed while you put a cold compress over your forehead.
• Drink a glass of grapefruit juice thrice a day.
• Soak in a tub of warm water.
• Drink a lot of fluids, particularly water and fresh fruit juices.
