Snoring

Snoring is the generation of noise during sleep due to blockages in the air passages in the larynx and the pharynx. The noise is generated at the back of the mouth cavity at the point where the tongue, the uvula and the upper and lower sections of the larynx and palate meet. The phenomena can exhibit itself at varying levels of severity: from light snoring that are characteristic of normal states of tiredness and up to snores with a level of 50 – 60 decibels, similar to that of a moving bus when standing three meters away.

Home remedies for Snoring

• Try sleeping on your side for better airflow.
• Lose weight.
• Sip three tablespoons of olive oil before going to sleep every night.
• Make sure you sleep regularly at night, at least eight hours.
• Try to eat light during dinner.
• Prop up your pillows and sleep in a slightly elevated position to avoid any obstruction on the airflow.
