Toothache

Toothache (in Latin: odontalgia) is caused by unhealthy teeth or jaw. This includes dental caries, gum diseases, a wisdom tooth, a cracked or broken tooth, a disease in the jaw, or an exposed tooth root. Toothache can also be a symptom of heart disease such as angina pectoris or an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) due to pain radiates to the area of the teeth. After an extraction, a state known as “dry socket” may develop. This can cause acute pain.

Home remedies for Toothache

• Place a clove of garlic with salt on the affected tooth to ease the pain.
• Chewing raw onion for three minutes kills the bacteria in the mouth.
• Eating lemon can protect the teeth from tooth decay, premature tooth loss, and bleeding of the gums.
• Place a cotton ball soaked in arrack or brandy on the concerned tooth.
• Place some oregano leaves in a glass of boiling water for five minutes and then gargle with the water.
• Mix bay berry and a bit of vinegar to turn it into a paste. Use this as toothpaste every time you brush your teeth.
• Apply three drops of vanilla extract to your aching tooth.
• Dip a green tea bag in hot water. Once warm, place it over your teeth until it gets cool. Repeat this process all throughout the day.
• Put some ice cube over teeth for fifteen minutes to numb the pain.
• Gargle with whiskey three times a day.
• Add a dash of salt in four drops of mustard oil and use this solution to massage your jaws and mouth area.
